The Balzer Theater at Herren's tickets & upcoming events

Looking for a charming spot with a bit of history and a whole lot of character? The Balzer Theater at Herren's in Atlanta is one of those hidden gems that keeps surprising folks. It’s got this cool vibe, like stepping back in time but with a modern twist. Back in 1989, it hosted a marionette show that drew crowds from all over, I mean, who knew puppetry could pack a house like that? Fast forward to 2018, and the theater debuted a contemporary ballet that critics raved about, seriously, some of the best dance performances I’ve seen in town. The costume collection is pretty impressive too, with vintage outfits from the early 20th century right up to today, perfect for theater buffs or history geeks. And if you’re wondering about the view, they actually have a virtual tour of the sightlines from the balcony, super handy before you buy those tickets. The staff really keeps the VIP balcony in tip-top shape, which honestly makes a difference when you’re settling in for a night of great entertainment. To find it, just head south along 5th Avenue from the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, and it’s within a block on Union Street. Trust me, whether you're into classic shows, modern dance, or just want to soak in some local culture, this theater’s got you covered. It’s a cozy, friendly place with a lot of stories to tell, and honestly, I wouldn’t miss it for the world.
